I was a player at Derbyshire CCC during 2 spells and I started coaching overseas in New Zealand in 1983.

Whilst there I coached many teams across Central Districts alongside my playing duties.

I had 2 seasons coaching for Hawkes Bay CA and then 3 for Manawatu CA.

In 1992 I was appointed Rondebosch Boys High School Coach in Cape Town, during my 6 years I coached a strong school team including Jonathan Trott and Andrew Puttick.

In 1997 I was appointed Derbyshire CCC 2nd XI Coach a post I held until 2000.

​

In 2001 I was appointed Head Coach of Suffolk CCC during my 7 years with the county we won both the Minor County East Division and the 1-Day Competition at Lord's.

​

In 2007 I was appointed 1st XI Coach at Derbyshire CCC under John Morris whom had taken the role as Director of Cricket.

​

Since leaving Derbyshire I have run a successful coaching business offering 121 coaching primarily, at certain points of the year I offer courses across the age groups.
